I met Fernando at Mercy College in the Physical Therapy doctoral program. We knew him as "Segundo". We were a small class, so for the 3.5 years we were together, most of us grew close and maintained ties to this day.
Segundo was friendly, funny, and quick-witted, but he was also very mature and smart, especially considering all the work we had to do in a weekend program meeting on Friday nights and all day on weekends in addition to being a father and husband.
